Far From Finished

As some of you know, last year was a very productive year for me. For those of you who were following my work, you’ll know how much I began focusing on my artwork. It was a great year that was full of learning and growing- full of passion and drive. After awhile you may have noticed that I started putting out less and less work and eventually nothing at all. While my personal life became busier and self doubts began to arise I had to take some time, step back, and re-evaluate what my true goal was.

So far this year has been full of blessings but while I may be making some incredible memories- I’m still conflicted. I know I can do more than what I’ve been settling for and it’s been tough to figure out what I’m truly meant to be doing. That’s why I’m back. I’m giving this another shot but with a different approach.

Art used to be my main focus but the issue with that is, to me, it doesn’t make a large enough impact that I know I can create. When most people look at art they’re like, “oh that’s awesome or I wish I could do that,” and never look at it again. It’s just short lived and no one really buys art nowadays. So my plan is instead of focusing on art I will focus on writing and using my artistic abilities to compliment my it. This is why I have decided to start my own blog and it almost seems perfect because I feel that this is the missing piece that will bring all of my others projects together.

I’ve never imagined myself being a writer but I have always had this undying desire to express myself. I have so much to tell the world but never take the chances and the truth is, is that I oftentimes get scared. Scared what others may think of me, scared that people may not like me, scared that I’m not good enough, but most of all scared of failing. Fear is truly crippling… I’ll save that spew for another time but what I’ve learned is that the biggest failure is never trying at all and yes, this is my second time around, but I’m far from finished.

You’re probably thinking, “what does this uneducated, comic book readin’, video game playin’, Husker lovin’, Supernatural watchin’, tortilla makin’, gym rat- have to say that I don’t already know?” Well, yes, I don’t have a fancy degree but I promise I have a lot to share with you.

The things I am going to be writing about are the things I’m constantly thinking about or doing such as my faith, understanding life, personal stories, and maybe a bit of fitness and nutrition. Mostly just insight, wisdom, and opinions. I’m no expert in any category but I plan to share my thoughts with you regardless whether you agree with them or not. If I am wrong about something I hope you correct me because I know there are many, many things I do not know. Whether you’re teaching me or sharing your thoughts as well I would love to hear what you have to say.

So please, if you are reading this I hope you stick around to experience this new journey with me and along the way I’ll teach you something, help you see in different perspectives, encourage you in an area of your life, and ultimately inspire you to do greater things.
